Flower girl

FLOWER GIRL

This young woman was rowing a boat filled with flowers, taking them to sell at the beautiful floating gardens of Xochimilco. The water was reflecting colors and light and the sun was shinning on her as she rowed. This is an original oil painting, painted by me, DJ Lanzendorfer, 11" x14" oil paint on linen canvas, unframed with FREE shipping included.

The reference for this painting was a family photo (slide) taken in the late 1940's - 1950's. I am painting a series of indigenous people of both Mexico and the American Southwest from this vintage resource.

The floating gardens of Xochimilco in Mexico City, are ancient Aztec, man-made, agricultural islands built from layered soil, reeds, and willow trees. These highly fertile, canals remain a sustainable oasis used to grow flowers and produce at the same time offering tourists boat rides on colorful boats.)

Although this painting is unframed, I have included an image of it in a frame so you can see how it will look.

Free shipping available only for paintings sold in the Continental USA.
